A world-class experience for European innovators across industries and company types, Money2020 Europe is more than just an event. It’s a catalyst for the growth and development of the payments and financial services ecosystem.
In its first year, Money2020 Europe welcomed 3.725 attendees, including 500 CEOs, from 1.500 companies and 70 countries. The show featured 422 speakers, over 200 sponsors and more than 100 media partners. Our unparalleled senior audience was comprised of visionaries and luminaries: the people who built the ecosystem, and the people who are disrupting, challenging and changing it. In June 2017, Copenhagen will once again take centre stage as the companies and individuals disrupting how consumers and businesses manage, spend and borrow money come together at scale.
The payments, financial services and retail sectors are currently experiencing an accelerated period of product development, characterised by technology and regulatory-based disruption. In this new emerging reality, collaboration is the key to survival. Money20/20 Europe is engineered to bring together all the stakeholders with a part to play in the commerce revolution: payments and financial services providers, banks and non-banks, the mobile ecosystem, the retail industry (offline and online), marketing services and data companies, investors, advisory firms and government bodies.
What SettleMint hopes to contribute to the visitors of this conference
We will display the versatility of SettleMint’s core middleware solution ‘Mint’ at Money2020 by demonstrating a number of applications that have been built using Mint. We will also demonstrate our rapid prototyping technology for smart contracts. By demoing these solutions live, we want to allow the visitors of the conference to interact directly with blockchain based applications to fully understand the potential of this technology.
We believe that our application, DataBroker, will be of interest to the participants of Money2020 as this is just one exciting example of the possibilities that emerge at the cross-roads of 4th industrial revolution technologies like blockchain, IoT and big data. This platform offers insight into blockchain technologies designed to deal with the scale of financial sector transaction volumes and demonstrates how micro-payments work in real time.
Our rapid prototyping solution for smart contracts will demonstrate how organisations can iterate through potential use cases at a speed that until now has simply not been possible.
By demonstrating these applications live at Money2020, we hope to provide visitors to the conference with a source of inspiration to rethink business models and understand and feel confident that Mint is a venerable tool they can deploy to bridge the gap they face today.
We believe the visitors will feel reassured in the knowledge that a typical proof of concept can be delivered in 3-6 weeks, not months so they should walk away feeling confident to experiment themselves with blockchain technologies. Another comforting factor will be the knowledge that Mint is built with bank grade security and quality.
While working together on blockchain applications for a large financial institution, Matthew Van Niekerk and Roderik van der Veer quickly realised that the promise of the blockchain technology far exceeded the boundaries of the financial world and would permeate industry and society entirely in the years to come. Simultaneously, it was very apparent that there was and is a huge gap between the capabilities of organisations that want to innovate with blockchain and the technology itself.
SettleMint was founded in 2016 to bridge the gap, creating a suite of developer tools that enable any enterprise developer to build blockchain based applications. ‘Mint’ encapsulates considerable R&D on the technical, operational and organisational aspects of this technology and packages this in easy to use developer tools that abstract away complexity. These tools are packaged in the form of modular software development kits (SDK) that contain smart contract templates, API layers, micro services and browser components.
Based on our R&D examining 500+ known use cases and the fully functioning blockchain based applications that we have already developed for clients, we estimate that ‘Mint’ covers approximately 80% of the interactions with blockchain technologies that are required to power these applications.
